This month’s Woman Leader of PECO is Amber Roberts, Executive Assistant to our COO, Bob Myers and leader of our daily Cincinnati fitness classes. Amber joined Phillips Edison in 2013. Her poise, professionalism and incredible work ethic have led her to be involved in a variety of company initiatives, helping to promote the company’s culture and continuously enhancing our wellness programs.

The email jumped out at me, evoking a groan of frustration: “Potluck on Thursday. Bring a dish to share!” The problem? It was Sunday night. I’d already done my weekly shopping. We were wrapping up a busy weekend and preparing for an even more packed week. I was not driving thirty minutes back to the store to get potluck food and had no open times in my schedule for it even if I was so inclined.

This month’s Woman Leader of PECO is Rene Feder, Senior Regional Property Manager. Rene joined Phillips Edison in 2013 as a Regional Property Manager and was promoted to Senior Regional Property Manager in 2014.

Our team continues to serve as a distinguished leader in the industry because of its fully integrated operating platform of in-house experts who are committed to providing outstanding customer service to our retailers, shoppers and investors.  

This month’s Woman Leader of PECO is Marissa Visconsi, Senior Leasing Professional. Marissa joined Phillips Edison in 2015 as a Leasing Professional and was promoted to Senior Leasing Professional in early 2018. Her retail and commercial real estate expertise, outstanding networking skills, hard work and dedication have paid off. So far in 2019, Marissa has earned the title of Phillips Edison Top Leasing Producer five out of six months and she has completed the Top Deal for two of those months. 
 

This month’s Woman Leader of PECO is Courtney Hathaway, Associate Vice President of Financial Reporting and Accounting. Courtney’s career has been a steady journey of increasing responsibility and success, fueled by her passion for excellence, accounting acumen, strong leadership skills and commitment to learning and growth for both herself and her team.

Over the last two years, news and media channels have been full of doom and gloom, predicting the demise of retail as we know it. But that’s only half of the story. Yes, some traditional retailers failed to evolve and adapt to rapidly changing consumer preferences - and they went under. But there are many other traditional, new and emerging retail concepts that will continue to maintain, expand or develop retail locations.

Shoppers continue to become more aware of environmental issues across the globe and develop an understanding of how their choices as consumers can effect positive change. As a result, they are increasingly demanding that goods and services are produced and delivered in accordance with their values. 
 

Always Keep Learning. This is one of Phillips Edison’s core values and we provide our team with a variety of programs and development opportunities to support it. We believe in growing our leaders from within and we allocate significant resources toward that effort. It’s been that way for over 25 years. And it’s not just a company line. I, personally, believe in, and place great value, on lifelong learning and personal growth.

Leadership NOW was announced at our company’s Annual Meeting in January. It will provide a unique opportunity to one female associate at Phillips Edison to lead an initiative with the support of our CEO, Jeff Edison. We believe it’s a significant step toward fulfilling PECO NOW’s mission of providing leadership opportunities to women at PECO.
