Program Overview

Phillips Edison & Company is excited to offer the PECO Internship Program (PECOI), a learning experience for college students through a 15-week internship/co-op rotation during the fall, spring and summer semesters. PECOI, a challenging but rewarding program, offers students of all majors the opportunity to explore the commercial real estate world through various departments. Meet Some of our Interns

Brandon Myers PECO Intern
Brandon Myers
Department: Accounting

Why do you love working at PECO: The people who work here are very friendly and are genuinely interested in talking to and getting to know you. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else I've come across.
Favorite grocery store to shop at: Kroger

Sarah Schank
Department: Leasing
School: University of South Carolina
What do you do at PECO: I work directly with the Regional VP of Leasing, Senior VP of Leasing, and Leasing Agents on presentation preparation, and to get them the information needed to complete deals and other tasks.
Favorite social media: Instagram

Nate Hazzard
Department: Property Management – Sustainability
School: Ohio State University
Why do you love working at PECO: PECO is a very positive work environment generated by the people that make up each team. Everyone's very willing to help each other out and contribute to the overall successes of a project rather than focusing on just their part of it. Working here really feels like being part of a team dedicated to giving our tenants the best experience possible for their businesses.
Favorite show to binge watch: The Office

Megan Wells
Department: Marketing
School: University of Cincinnati
What do you do at PECO: I work on a variety of projects for the marketing department. I’ve created a whole social media campaign from start to finish and then branded the internship program (go PECOI!). It’s awesome to be given so much responsibility as an intern.
Fun fact: I worked on the set of Transformers 4 as a production assistant.

What Comes After Your Internship?

PECOI brings in the talent…and we like to keep that around. Read about some of our employees who started off as interns and got hired on full time. We like to call these our #SuccessStories.

Candace Roth
Title: Leasing Associate
What was your first position at PECO: Part-time leasing intern/assistant
Why did you choose to stay:  I saw the growth happening first hand and wanted to be a part of it. Working among other employees who built their success at PECO encouraged me to push for the same.
What is your favorite part of living/working in Cincinnati: Cincinnati has everything. Great restaurants, breweries, night life, brunch spots, Cincinnati Reds,
Bengals, performing arts, beautiful parks and museums. Cincinnati truly has something for everyone.

Danielle Brindisi
Title: Recruiter
What other roles have you had at PECO: Property Management Intern, Human Resources Coordinator
Why did you choose to stay: During my internship experience at Phillips Edison I was able to be involved in what I thought was beyond an internship. I was working on projects that challenged and excited me and I wanted to continue to do that. I felt like I was working for a company that truly cared about me and my growth.
Fun fact: I’ve never tried a hamburger or hotdog!

Kevin Heglin
Title: Leasing Professional
Why do you love working for PECO: The opportunities they have given me to travel and work throughout the west have been unbelievable. Living and working in a downtown environment have also made for moving to Salt Lake much more desirable.
